10 New Eateries That Recently Opened

If you are looking for a new place to try, check out these 10 new places that have opened over the last few months.

1. Pie Town Tacos

Pie Town Tacos, a fast-casual taco shop, is slated to open July 28 at 614 Ewing Ave.

The new taco shop will offer two styles of tacos: traditional street tacos, including carne asada and al pastor, with fresh garnishes on corn tortillas; and Nashville hot tacos made with a house spice blend. Taco bowls with chorizo and potato, chilaquiles, fresh salsas, chips with queso, and house made sopapillas round out the menu. Vegetarian options will be plentiful, including Nashville hot cauliflower tacos, tofu chorizo bowls, and sides like black beans, cotija potatoes, and green rice.

2. Chatime

Chatime, a tea and ramen bar, is now open at 1703 Portland Avenue in Nashville. Chatime held a grand opening on July 6.

We’re committed to ensuring the freshness and flavor of every drink we make and pair this with a commitment to operational standards that are unmatched in our industry. Our promise of quality means that we’re serving our customers the best tea-based drinks in the world,” it states on the website.

3. The Baked Bear

The Baked Bear, a shop specializing in ice cream sandwiches, opened July 17 at 1809 Division St. in Nashville.

Announcing via Facebook, “We are thrilled to announce our GRAND OPENING this Friday, July 17th @ 7pm! To provide a safe environment for our customers & employees, we ask that everyone practice safe social distancing while visiting the store (located at 1809 Division St.). Our team will be wearing gloves and masks at all times. We can’t wait to begin serving the Nashville community!”

4. Hearts

Hearts, a new Australian inspired cafe, has opened in Nashville.

Located at 914 Gallatin Avenue, Hearts recently opened in a transformed space that was formerly an auto shop.

Via the website, it states, “Hearts is inspired by the incredible food and coffee scene of Melbourne, Australia — a city that boasts more cafes per capita than anywhere else in the world. HEARTS will be serving breakfast, brunch, and lunch, with a core menu that reflects the owners’ Aussie heritage via classic egg-based dishes, salads, sandwiches, and healthy bowls — all featuring locally-sourced produce from right here in the heart of Nashville.”

5. Dunkin’

Dunkin’ opened the doors to its newest Next Generation restaurant in Belle Meade located at 5101 Harding Pike.

The next generation restaurant features Dunkin’s signature innovative tap system serving eight consistently cold beverages such as coffees, iced teas, cold brew coffee, and nitro infused cold brew coffee. Crew members will also use top-quality flavor-maximizing espresso machines to make hand-crafted drinks to order.

6. Little Gourmand

Little Gourmand opened its second location in Nashville on June 16, 2020. This new space is an authentic “Patisserie Française” (French Pastry Shop) and is located at 717 Craighead in the Melrose/Berry Hill neighborhood.

Little Gourmand, owned by French couple Guenievre Milliner and Eric Summer, first opened on Bandywood in Green Hills in November 2014.

7. Red’s 615 Kitchen

Red’s 615 Kitchen, a hot chicken food truck, has expanded to a brick-and-mortar, opening in the former Hog Heaven location at 115 27th Avenue North (close to Centennial Park).

Red’s 615 Kitchen food truck has received accolades with an appearance on Cooking Channel and named Best Food Truck in Tennessee for 2019.

8. Belle Meade Meat & Three

Belle Meade Plantation has opened a new meat and three restaurant on-site in the Visitors Center at 110 Leake Avenue, Nashville.

The new restaurant will feature smoked meats, freshly cooked vegetables, biscuits, cornbread, and house-made desserts.

9. The Optimist

The Optimist and its whimsical take on a seaside fish camp opened at the end of June at 1400 Adams Street.  The Optimist experience first opened in Atlanta in 2012 – a concept that shortly after opening earned a #7 spot on Bon Appetit’s Hot 10 list and took home Esquire’s coveted title of ‘Best New Restaurant of the Year.’

10. Ruby Sunshine

Ruby Sunshine opened in Hillsboro Village in June at 1800 21st Ave. S., Ruby Sunshine offers New Orleans-style twists on brunch classics, including benedicts, pancakes and French Toast, as well as eye-opening cocktails. This will mark Ruby Sunshine’s second location in the Greater Nashville area, following their first location in Franklin’s Public Square last year.
