Hockey season is in full effect. That means Bridgestone Arena will be alternating Nashville Predators games with other events until there’s no more goals to get.

Since the 1998-1999 inaugural season for the Predators, Nashville has been falling more in love with hockey year after year. Who could forget our first Stanley Cup playoff appearance in 2017, when tens of thousands of fans descended upon Nashville to support the blue and gold?
If you’re new to hockey, there are a few things you need to know to be the ultimate fan. (Besides the fact that Mike Fisher is married to country music royalty.) You’ll need to know how to support the team on and off the ice, and how to look great doing it. Here are our three favorite ways to show some love for your Nashville Predators.
Be a Do-Gooder

Did you know that the Predators aren’t just a bunch of pretty faces?
They have a nonprofit organization that supports great causes around the city and they welcome fans and community members to participate in giving back to the city that has opened its arms to the team. The Predators Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization, and they have given fans tons of opportunities to participate in their charity drives and events. Check out their calendar and get tickets to a game where you can be part of the impact the Preds make off the ice.
Snag Some Swag

Don’t even think about heading out for a game without putting on some fun and trendy Preds gear! And of course you’re shopping local, right? Right?
If you’re going to the game, stop by Music City Shop in Bridgestone Arena for all things Preds. If you’re looking for something unique, Music City Marketplace offers super cute styles to show your love for the home team! And for even more Nash-centric apparel, visit The Nash Collection by REVV at their new location on Broadway.
Don’t Forget the Catfish

So maybe hockey doesn’t have native roots in the south, but just like anything else that ventures down here from the great white north, we have taken our hockey and gussied it right up. Bless our hearts, we figured out a way to incorporate catfish into the game.
Now, we are not suggesting you duct tape a dead fish to your nether regions to smuggle it into a game (just think of how it will mess with your adorable new team gear!) BUT, there’s nothing wrong with joining the catfish trend in spirit. Nobody makes catfish as delicious as we do in the south – that’s why catfish is the perfect pregame meal in Nashville.
Run over to Edley’s Bar-B-Que (locations in East Nashville, 12 South and Sylvan Heights) for a divine taste of the Predators’ honorary mascot. Try some catfish tacos, or a catfish sandwich or even a platter. You will not be disappointed, and you will not have dead fish slime on your favorite jeans – win/win!
Show your Preds Pride with these puck-worthy suggestions, get your game tickets here…and don’t forget to polish up your fang fingers before you go!
