Revel in the creative atmosphere of Hatch Show Print as you work with the shop’s image blocks and ink to create a design that you can hand-print onto paper, a tote bag, or a t-shirt. Cost is $60 per adult

No experience necessary. All materials provided, but you may bring your own t-shirt. The program is conducted by Hatch Show Print.

Film: Johnny Cash And Friends

Sunday, Feb 2 11a – 12p

Johnny Cash and Friends was a television special that aired for four weeks on CBS during August and September of 1976 as a revival of the popular Johnny Cash Show, which aired on ABC from 1969-71. Johnny Cash and Friends was filmed at the newly constructed Grand Ole Opry House. Performance highlights from this episode include Cash and Charley Pride performing “Guess Things Happen That Way,” Jessi Colter and Waylon Jennings performing “You Hung the Moon (Didn’t You Waylon?),” and comedic skits from Steve Martin and Jim Varney. Fifty minutes. Ford Theater.

This concert, originally taped for PBS, was filmed at the Ryman Auditorium in 2002. Host Ricky Skaggs welcomes performers to the stage and narrates educational segments about bluegrass trailblazers Bill Monroe, Earl Scruggs, and Ralph Stanley. Performance highlights include Vince Gill’s “Holy Unto the Lord,” Patty Loveless and Ricky Skaggs’s “Daniel Prayed,” and the Del McCoury Band’s “1952 Vincent Black Lightning.” Fifty-five minutes. Ford Theater. Included with museum admission. Free to museum members.

The Jimmy Dean Show was a weekly variety show, hosted by Country Music Hall of Fame member Jimmy Dean, that aired on ABC for three seasons. This episode features performances by Country Music Hall of Fame members Chet Atkins, Floyd Cramer, Minnie Pearl, and Ernest Tubb. The episode also includes commercials that aired during the original broadcast. Fifty-seven minutes. Ford Theater.
