A BLOG AND RECIPE FOR HONEY LIME ROASTED BROCCOLI BY OUR FRIEND AND CONTRIBUTOR, CHEF LAURA LEA WITH LAURA LEA BALANCED.
Dang it feels good to be creating recipes for the blog again!
As much as I L-O-V-E writing cookbooks, it does take me away from interacting with y’all here in what feels like real time. So after 13 months focused almost exclusive on cookbook 2, I am overjoyed to be hanging out ‘back’ on this website!
After all, this is where it all started, almost 6 years ago today! I moved home to Nashville on August 1, 2013, and the only thing I knew I could do is create and share recipes. So I purchased llbalanced.com, annoyed the WordPress tech guys until I figured out a basic website and got to work in the kitchen.
While SO MUCH has happened and changed over these 6 years, a few things have remained consistent. One of which is my focus on accessible, easy, family-friendly foods that can help you fall back in love with cooking.
Today’s recipe is such a perfect example of that foundational LL Balanced goal. There’s ZERO magic to this recipe. No complicated techniques or equipment or fancy spices. Just a handful of everyday ingredients which, when combined in the right way, taste fan-freaking-tastic.
This Honey Lime Broccoli was actually inspired by a brussels sprouts dish at Bourbon Steak restaurant. While every single item I’ve tried from their menu is DIVINE, I’m especially enamored with the fried brussels sprouts, seasoned with lime and honey.
I appropriated this flavor combo for broccoli, cause I was craving broccoli! And I used the oven (no fry baskets here) to get them golden-brown and crispy. That said, I bet this would be AMAZING in the air fryer, so making a mental note to try that for y’all.
There’s really not much more to say, other than thank YOU for sticking around or coming back or just discovering my little internet corner for the first time. LL Balanced is 100% yours, and I am just here to facilitate making your life happier and healthier!
