Due to last week’s tornadoes that swept through Middle Tennessee and the rising concern of coronavirus (COVID-19), some local events have been canceled or postponed. Here is a running list that we will update as more canceled or postponed events are announced. 1Music City Irish Fest
The Music City Irish Fest scheduled to take place this weekend in Nashville has been canceled.
A statement released from King Hospital Group and local organizers shared that due to damage from the tornado in and around Bicentennial Park along with issues of safety for crowds, the festival will be canceled.
“Power grid outages, structural damage to nearby buildings and storm debris are not conducive to a safe and fun festival ground,” states event organizer Michael King.
All purchased tickets are in the process of being refunded. At this time, there are no plans to reschedule the event this year.

2Tin Pan South
Songwriting festival Tin Pan South, originally planned for later this month, has been rescheduled.
Tin Pan South was scheduled to take place Tuesday, March 24 – Saturday, March 28 with events across 10 venues in Nashville.
Tin Pan South posted the following on their website:
After heavy consideration, in light of the tornado this week as well as growing health concerns over the Coronavirus, we have decided to reschedule Tin Pan South Songwriters Festival to later this year, in the Summer,” said NSAI Executive Director Bart Herbison. “We feel this is the responsible decision, and it is supported by Tin Pan venues and sponsors involved in the festival. We want to thank everyone who had planned to participate in or attend the festival and appreciate the support in rescheduling it.
It is possible that several of the venues will move forward with the previously scheduled events, this will be decided between the venues and participants and it is likely that several events will now be modified to benefit tornado relief efforts.
Ticket holders to Tin Pan South or those registered for Tin Pan South Songwriting seminar can request a refund or transfer to the new date when announced. Refunds can be requested at refunds@nashvillesongwriters.com.
3Pearl Jam at Bridgestone Arena
The band was scheduled to play at Bridgestone Arena on April 2. A statement was released by the band explaining they would reschedule the first leg of their tour for a later date. At this time, no other events have been canceled or rescheduled at Bridgestone.
As residents of the city of Seattle, we’ve been hit hard and have witnessed firsthand how quickly these disastrous situations can escalate. Our kids’ schools have closed along with universities and businesses. It’s been brutal and it’s gonna get worse before it gets better.
So we are being told that being part of large gatherings is high on the list of things to avoid as this global health crisis is now beginning to affect all of our lives.
Unfortunately, communing in large groups is a huge part of what we do as a band and the tour we’ve been busy planning for months is now in jeopardy…
We have and will always keep the safety and well-being of our supporters as top priority.
So it is with deep frustration and regret that we are forced to make this most unfortunate of announcements…
This scheduled first leg of our PJ/Gigaton tour will need to be postponed and shows rescheduled for a later date.
4Nashville Sounds Host Vanderbilt Baseball
The Sounds regret to announce the March 17 Vanderbilt vs. Belmont game and March 24 Vanderbilt vs. Lipscomb game at First Horizon Park have been canceled due to damages sustained during the tornado last week. Full refunds will be issued.
5Special Olympics Tennessee
Special Olympics Tennessee is suspending all sports training, competitions, and other activities involving its athletes through March 31, 2020, at which time the situation will be reevaluated. This includes the State Basketball event scheduled for March 13-14, 2020 at Lipscomb University.
6TEDxNashville
Kaleigh Imbriale, executive director, TEDxNashville today announced: “In the wake of last week’s tornadoes and amidst growing health concerns over COVID-19, we have decided to postpone our annual TEDxNashville conference next week and reschedule the event for Sunday, May 17.”
The TEDxNashville conference, originally scheduled for March 20 and 21, is now scheduled for Sunday, May 17 from 1 – 6 p.m. at TPAC. Previously purchased tickets to the March event will be honored for the rescheduled date. Ticket holders can expect to receive an email from TPAC’s box office re: next steps.

7Tennessee Rising Celebrating Strength & Community
Celebrity trainer Erin Oprea was hosting a tornado relief concert Saturday, March 14 at Marathon Music Works, 1402 Clinton Street, Nashville.
Due to the safety of attendees and rising coronavirus concerns, the event was canceled.
8SE-YA Book Festival, Murfreesboro
The Southeastern Young Adult Book Festival (also known as SE-YA), which was scheduled to take place in Murfreesboro on the MTSU campus March 12 – 14 has canceled due to coronavirus concerns.
In a statement, SE-YA organizers write:
It is with heavy hearts and deep regrets that the Southeastern Young Adult Book Festival Board of Directors announce the cancellation of SE-YA Book Fest 2020. We are devastated to share this news with you as we know that this event is one that many authors, students, and fans look forward to each year. At this time, we feel that we are unable to provide the same quality experience that has been our calling card over the last four years amid the high volume of cancellations because of the many unknown factors and concerns related to COVID-19 (Coronavirus).
9Thai-Lao Food Fair, Murfreesboro
Amid concerns of the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), the Thai-Lao Food Fair has canceled their upcoming event in Murfreesboro.
The Food Fair was expected to take place April 25 – 26.
Via Facebook, event organizers write, “We want everyone to be safe. We will announce on Facebook, if there will be one later on this year. Thank you very much on your supports. The temple is open for your visit. May everyone be safe and have good health.”
10Nashville Home Show
The Nashville Home + Remodeling Expo scheduled for March 13-15, 2020 has been CANCELED as a result of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. Via Instagram. they stated, “During this time, we urge all in the community to follow guidelines from local public health officials. The wellbeing and safety of all attendees and exhibitors are our first priority in creating a dynamic marketplace. Be safe.”

11Nashville Fashion Week
Nashville Fashion Week had events scheduled to begin on 3/18 but has decided to reschedule a new date for August 4 – 8.
“We are devastated to share this announcement with you. While it is unprecedented in our 10-year history to not have the show go on, and especially for what was planned to be the celebration of a decade, Nashville Fashion Week 2020 is being rescheduled,” the event stated on Facebook.
At this time, they will continue with their Learning Lab events and Shop Nashville event as scheduled. Find more information here.
12SEC Tournament at Bridgestone
UPDATE: SEC canceled the remaining of the tournament Thursday morning The SEC tournament started at Bridgestone Arena on Wednesday evening.
A statement was released on the SEC website, “The Southeastern Conference has announced it will conduct the 2020 SEC Men’s Basketball Tournament with only essential staff, limited family and credentialed media in attendance at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville for the remainder of the week beginning on Thursday following the recommendation of the NCAA COVID-19 Advisory Panel related to conducting sporting events closed to the public.”
In addition, the SEC announced that all regular-season contests in all sports on SEC campuses and SEC Championship events will be conducted with similar attendance restrictions effective Thursday, March 12 through at least March 30 at which time the conference and its member universities will re-evaluate conditions.
13USTRC at Williamson County Ag Center
Team Roping Competition at the Williamson County Ag Center this weekend March 13-15 has been canceled.
14Brooklyn Bowl Nashville Grand Opening
Brooklyn Bowl was set to open this weekend. They sent us a statement they would be postponing, “With heavy hearts, we announce that Brooklyn Bowl Nashville has postponed its opening until further notice. As much as we would love to gather together and lift up our city, given the escalating public health concerns nationwide, we feel this is the right thing to do and we hope you understand our decision. Upcoming shows will be postponed as necessary, and we’ll be back with information soon.”
15Zac Brown Band at Bridgestone Arena
Zac Brown Band put out a statement regarding their upcoming show at Bridgestone. “Out of caution and due to increasing public health concerns, Zac Brown Band is postponing the spring 2020 leg of ‘The Owl Tour.’ This was an extremely difficult decision, but the well-being of our fans is always our top priority. Rescheduled dates for all spring shows (through Nashville on April 25) will be announced soon. We ask that our fans retain their tickets as they will be honored on the new dates. At this time, our ‘Roar With The Lions’ Summer 2020 tour dates (commencing in May) will be performed as planned.”
16Nashville Predators Season on Hold
The NHL just announced the season would be paused at this time. Commissioner Gary Bettman released a statement, “In light of ongoing developments resulting from the coronavirus, and after consulting with medical experts and convening a conference call of the Board of Governors, the National Hockey League is announcing today that it will pause the 2019-2020 season beginning with tonight’s games.”
The NHL hopes to resume games when it’s appropriate and will keep fans updated.
Nashville Predators have also canceled Preds & Threads Fashion Show to be held on March 17, 2020 at Bridgestone Arena.
17Nashville Symphony Cancels Shows March 12 – 14
The Nashville Symphony has announced that all four concerts scheduled for March 12-14 at Schermerhorn Symphony Center have been cancelled in the interest of the health and safety of Symphony patrons, musicians, guest artists and staff during the coronavirus outbreak. The canceled performances are:

18Dancing for Safe Haven
Via Facebook, Safe Haven shared the news about their event. “Safe Haven Family Shelter continues to carefully monitor the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation and, after much consideration, has decided to postpone our Dancing for Safe Haven event, which was scheduled for Saturday, March 28, at the Omni Nashville Hotel. A new date will be determined as quickly as possible, and we will post that on our social media outlets and on our website as soon as it is confirmed.”
19The Five Spot
The Five Spot is “closing our doors until the Covid-19 virus is under control. At the moment, we plan on being closed for a month.” The Five Spot has started a GoFundMe for the staff and musicians. Click here for more.
20Adventure Science Center
With information and guidance from the Tennessee Department of Health and Dr. Alex Jahangir, MD, MMHC, FACS, Adventure Science Center Board Chair and Chair of the Metropolitan Nashville Board of Health, the Adventure Science Center has made the decision to temporarily close the museum until Monday, March 23. They will continue to monitor the situation and follow recommendations from local authorities and public health officials, and will make announcements as needed regarding re-opening the museum.
214th Annual Mid-Tennessee Pug Festival
The 4th Annual Mid-Tennessee Pug Festival scheduled for Saturday, March 14, 2020 at the Barfield Crescent Park in Murfreesboro has been canceled.
22Billie Eilish at Bridgestone
Billie Eilish was set to stop at Bridgestone Arena on March 27 but announced on Facebook the ‘WHERE DO WE GO’ North American tour dates have been postponed until further notice. Details on postponed dates to be announced soon. All tickets will be honored for the new dates.

23NRA Meeting in Nashville
NRA shared via Facebook, the news of rescheduling their meeting in Nashville, “With our 149th Annual Meeting scheduled for next month in Nashville, we realize many NRA members and meeting guests have questions about the coronavirus (COVID-19) and the potential impact on our convention.”
It continued, “We have been closely monitoring updates from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Tennessee Department of Health. In fact, earlier today, a state of emergency was declared in Tennessee. Therefore, we have reluctantly decided to cancel this year’s NRA Annual Meeting, planned for April 16 – 19 in Nashville. This applies to all events and scheduled programs, including the NRA-ILA Forum. We sincerely regret the need for this action, particularly for our many loyal members who join us for this annual celebration of the NRA and our constitutional freedoms. Details regarding a rescheduled NRA Members’ Meeting will be forthcoming.”
24Country Music Hall of Fame
The Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum announced that based on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) expanded guidance and the Metro Public Health Department’s recommendations, the museum has effective immediately:
• Suspended all youth, family and school programming at the museum and within the Greater Nashville community through at least March 31, 2020
• Postponed Songwriters Sessions, Musician Spotlights, film screenings and other programming currently scheduled in the museum’s Ford Theater through at least March 31, 2020.
• Canceled the Hatch Show Print Block parties scheduled for both Friday, March 13, and Friday, March 27.
25Franklin Theatre
As of Friday, March 13th, The Franklin Theatre has temporarily suspended all ticketed performances and movies scheduled through April 10, 2020. Read more here.
26Nashville Flea Market
Friday morning, The Nashville Flea Market announced the cancellation of the March event on their website. “The Fairgrounds Nashville continues to monitor the ongoing COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic and related guidance from Metro Public Health Department, Tennessee Department of Health, and Mayor’s Office. We understand your need for information as to the status of the Flea Market and other events at The Fairgrounds. In an abundance of caution and to give you as much advanced notice as possible, we are announcing the cancellation of the March Flea Market scheduled for March 27-29. We did not make this decision without careful consideration knowing that 500 small businesses will be impacted. We also take our responsibility to care for our employees, vendor community, customers, and the general public very seriously during this time of recommended social distancing.”
27Southern Women’s Show
Southern Women’s Show was to take place on March 26-29. The show shared via Facebook, “For the safety of show guests, and following the recommendations and requests of a variety of government and health authorities, the Southern Women’s Show scheduled at the Music City Center in Nashville March 26-29 has been cancelled.”

28The Grand Ole Opry
The Opry released a statement.
In an effort to maintain health and safety amid current COVID-19 concerns, the Grand Ole Opry, the world’s longest-running radio show, will pause performances that include a live audience through April 4, including tonight’s performance on March 13 and tomorrow’s performance on March 14, 2020.
29City Winery Wedding Open House
As City Winery continues to monitor the quickly spreading COVID-19 virus, we have decided to make the difficult decision to postpone our Wedding Open House on Wednesday, March 18, 2020.
Because of the recent school closings and event cancellations in Middle Tennessee, it is best suited for this event to be pushed to a later date, TBA. This decision is not made because of a suspicion of the virus in our location, but instead, City Winery strives to bring our guests the best version of all of our events possible.
30Warner Park Nature Center
31TPAC Cancels Shows
In response to rising concerns about the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) and due to events beyond the control of the Tennessee Performing Arts Center, including the declaration of a Tennessee and federal state of emergency, TPAC will close Andrew Jackson Hall, James K. Polk Theater, Andrew Johnson Theater, and the historic War Memorial Auditorium from March 14 through April 12.
“The health and safety of our patrons, touring artists, volunteers, and staff are our top priority as we navigate this quickly evolving situation,” says Jennifer Turner, TPAC President and CEO. “We have determined that continuing with these scheduled performances may be dangerous to public health and safety. Closing our venues is the right action to prevent exposing our employees and the people we serve to health risks and to reduce the strain on our healthcare providers.”
Patrons holding tickets for performances affected by this closure will be contacted by the TPAC Box Office on the status of that performance and their options. TPAC is working to reschedule as many of the affected performances and events as possible and asks for patrons’ patience as this process may take some time.
32Cool Springs Galleria Cancels Events
Via Facebook, CoolSprings Galleria shared the news of no Easter Bunny photo program this year. The health and well-being of the community we serve, our customers, employees, and retail partners is our top priority. Out of an abundance of caution and based on guidelines for public meetings and events from the CDC and other governmental agencies, we have made the decision to cancel or postpone all planned events, which includes our seasonal Easter Bunny photo program.
We will continue to monitor updates from the CDC as well as local health officials and government agencies and will resume our event schedule as soon as it is appropriate.
33Nashville Zoo Cancels Programming
Nashville Zoo shared an update on Facebook, The health and safety of our guests, staff, volunteers and animals is our top priority, and we are closely monitoring any new developments related to COVID-19 (coronavirus). The Zoo is following guidance from local health officials, the Tennessee Department of Health and the CDC.
To address the need to limit large gatherings, Nashville Zoo is postponing or canceling all programs, keeper talks, animal shows, Backstage Pass tours, and private parties through April 1.
The Zoo will remain open, but Unseen New World, carousel, train, and Zoofari Café will be closed through April 1 (other concession stands will remain open). Because of the limited amenities, Nashville Zoo is reducing our admission pricing to $16 for adults, $12 for children and $14 for seniors through April 1.
34Nashville Elvis Festival
The festival announced on Facebook it would cancel the upcoming event scheduled on March 19-22 at The Factory in Franklin. Ticket holders should expect a refund in the upcoming weeks. A date has been for set 2021 of March 11-14. Find more information on the Nashville Elvis Festival Facebook page.
35Bluebird Cafe
Bluebird Cafe is temporarily closing March 13 – 29.
“Due to our venue’s small size, we feel this is the only surefire way to do so. As songwriter Don Schlitz once wrote, “you have to know when to hold them and know when to fold them.” Over the next two weeks, we will be evaluating the CDC’s information as well as updates from Nashville city health officials and hope to be able to reopen our doors next month.”
36Whiskey Warmer at Westhaven
The event was scheduled for the end of March has been rescheduled to June 13. Find more information here.
37Williamson County Public Libary Cancels Programing
Williamson County Public Library sent out a statement, “In an effort to prevent community transmission, WCPL is cancelling all organized programming and non-essential gatherings at all WCPL branches effective March 14, 2020. This includes programs, classes, and special events.”
All WCPL branches will remain open for use by individuals. All regular operating hours will remain in effect.
38Mercy Lounge, High Watt, and Cannery Row
They issued a statement, “It is with a heavy heart that we must pause the music in Music City. In the wake of the COVID-19 global pandemic and with the ongoing updates from the federal, state, and city-level we are putting the health of our artists, customers, employees and community first. therefore, we have made the difficult decision that upcoming shows at Mercy Lounge, Cannery Ballroom, and The High Watt will be canceled or postponed through March 30.” Fans with tickets will be contacted about a refund.
39Goat Yoga Nashville
Goat Yoga announced on Facebook the cancellation of all classes until April 1st. Those who have scheduled a class will be contacted about a refund.
40Main Street Festival
The Heritage Foundation’s 37thAnnual Main Street Festival has been rescheduled from April 25-26, 2020 to July 18-19, 2020.
41BNA 5K at Nashville International Airport
The BNA 5K scheduled for April 18 at Nashville International Airport has been canceled. “Due to the uncertainty regarding the continued trajectory of COVID-19, we made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s BNA 5K on the Runway. Unfortunately, we will not be able to reschedule, as Runway 2R/20L will close for construction on May 4, 2020, for an 18-month reconstruction project. It is the only viable runway at BNA to hold a public race on.”
42Mule Day in Columbia
During a press conference, Maury County Mayor announced the cancellation of the annual Mule Day event scheduled for April 2- 5.
43City of Franklin Events
During a Facebook Live announcement from the City of Franklin shared the following events will be canceled. Tennessee Tree Day(Mar 21), Kids Art Festival(Mar 28), Arbor Day(Apr 18) and Movie in the Park(Apr 24).
44Iron Fork Event
Iron Fork released a statement about the cancellation of their event. “At the direction of Metro Nashville Public Health Department, we must sadly confirm the rescheduling of our Iron Fork event previously scheduled for March 19, 2020 at the Musicians Hall of Fame. While this decision comes at a time of universal uncertainty, we take the safety and health of our guests, staff, clients, and community very seriously. We urge everyone to follow the guidelines and protocols put forth by public health officials.” No reschedule date has been set.
