WHAT: Lightning 100’s Chocolate Affair benefiting MusiCares at The Parthenon in Nashville is on Sat, February 8th. THIS EVENT IS 21+ This year’s VIP experience will be hosted by Goo Goo Clusters! Lightning 100’s Chocolate Affair brings together some of the greatest things in life – food, drinks, music & chocolate! Food artisans from all over Nashville will be sampling their flagship creations at the event, ranging from sweet to savory. You’ll experience flavors from the best chocolatiers, candy creators, bakers and food makers all in one place! Rebecca Sayre’s jazz quartet will be setting the mood, unique beer and liquor selections will line the bars, and 8 Lavenders Lanes chocolate fountain will be stocked and flowing. 3. Specialty Workshop – Intro to Brush Lettering!

WHAT: Learn the art of Modern Calligraphy with Guest Instructor Abbey Lanigan! In this class, you will learn at your own pace in a relaxed, supportive and inspiring environment – and you’ll get plenty of one-on-one instruction. Gain a basic knowledge of pointed pen calligraphy tools, basic strokes, lower and uppercase alphabet, letter connections, and more. No prior experience is required! You’ll leave empowered to continue your Brush Lettering journey.
Abbey is the calligrapher and designer behind Clover Paper Co. With a background in graphic design and a heart for hand-lettering, she combined her loves to start her local small business in 2017. Abbey adores the brides and wedding planners she services, and is definitely living her best life when creating paper perfection just for the big day. She also loves designing everyday stationery – you may have seen some of her work in local boutiques around town!

WHAT: Currently playing on Broadway, Lerner & Loewe’s MY FAIR LADY is the winner of 5 2018 Outer Critics Circle Awards including Best Revival of Musical and was recently nominated for 10 Tony Awards including Best Musical Revival, 5 Drama Desk Awards including Best Musical Revival and 3 Drama League Awards including Best Musical Revival.
Adapted from George Bernard Shaw’s play and Gabriel Pascal’s motion picture Pygmalion, MY FAIR LADY, with a book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner and music by Frederick Loewe, premiered on Broadway on March 15, 1956. The legendary original production won 6 Tony Awards including Best Musical and ran for 2,717 performances making it, at the time, the longest-running musical in Broadway history.
Boasting a score that contains such now-classic songs as “I Could Have Danced All Night,” “Get Me to the Church on Time,” “Wouldn’t It Be Loverly,” “On the Street Where You Live,” “The Rain in Spain,” and “I’ve Grown Accustomed to Her Face,” MY FAIR LADY was hailed by The New York Times as “one of the best musicals of the century,” by the Christian Science Monitor as “a work of theatre magic,” and by the NY Herald Tribune as “a miraculous musical.”
