This Nashville Date Night Rocks in More Ways Than One

Second Saturday at Adventure Science Center is the perfect way to warm-up your Valentine a few days early...

We are a little concerned about you. The number of weekend nights you and bae spend in PJs watching 90s reruns is becoming increasingly difficult to justify. “But it’s cold outside. There’s nothing to do!” you say? We think you just need the right date night recommendation to get you moving. Lucky for you, we found a night out that’s unlike anything else in Nashville, including your “Family Matters” marathon.

Let us walk you through Adventure Science Center’s unique date night. Depending on the vibe you’re looking for, you can choose from five different media experiences at the Planetarium – each of which will expand your mind and help you (and the one you love) rock out on a crisp winter’s night.

Science is Sexy!

The festivities begin with Night Watch, the planetarium’s after-hours version of their best-selling show. Learn which stars, constellations and deep space wonders are observable from your own backyard. This is a live show that allows audience questions and participation — you’ll be amazed at the knowledge the staff lays down during this incredible show!

Mind: Blown

In the second show of the evening, Fantastic Fractals, you’ll explore intricate and infinitely complex fractals in nature. This award-winning Fulldome feature includes its own music and a kaleidoscopic journey through complex mathematical fractals. This is way more interesting than trying to figure out how Steve Urkel turned into Stefan Urquel.

For Those About To Rock…

Now that you’ve learned a little, it’s time for the lasers. The final element of Second Saturday is three amazing laser shows, to the tune of some incredible classic jams. Leading off is That (mostly) 70s Laser Show, featuring lasers choreographed with songs from the likes of Journey, Aerosmith, AC/DC and more. This is followed by Jukebox Heroes and last is the Queen Laser Show. You haven’t lived until you’ve heard Bohemian Rhapsody while watching a laser show. Trust us.

Give your couch and your Netflix account a night off and spend a night out with the stars – both celestial and rock ‘n’ roll. For that, we salute you!
