The Inaugural Gatlinburg Songwriters Festival event and conference planned for downtown Gatlinburg August 20-23, 2020 has been canceled due to ongoing concerns over COVID 19.
Set in the heart of the Great Smoky Mountains, the festival was planned to be a three-day event featuring nightly shows by hit songwriters showcased in venues across the city including Ole Red, SkyLift Park, Ole Smoky, and The Historic Gatlinburg Inn.
The event is rescheduled for August 19-22, 2021, and plans are to keep the same lineup. Attendees can enjoy night after night of performances from #1 songwriters including Danny Wells (“Check Yes Or No” – George Straight), Steve Dean (“Watching You” – Rodney Atkins), Chris Wallin (“Don’t Blink” – Kenny Chesney), Will Nance (“She’s Everything” -Brad Paisley), and many more.
Also, rescheduled for next year is a special celebration in conjunction with TN Tourism, commemorating the legacy of Felice and Boudleaux Bryant, the writers behind hits such as “Rocky Top,” “I Could,” “All I Have To Do Is Dream” and more. The 2021 festival will begin with the unveiling of a new Music Pathways Marker at The Historic Gatlinburg Inn. As a part of this celebration festival songwriters have the opportunity to book writing sessions in historic room #388 where many of the Bryant’s evergreens were penned.
