bartaco

Upscale street tacos and vacation vibes are what you’ll find at Bar Taco in 12 South. The pre-meal “chips” are gigantic hard corn shells served with a mouth-watering trio of tomatillo salsa, roja and guacamole. Their tacos are super delicious and unique (such as the Roasted Duck, Cauliflower and Falafel Tacos). This place just doesn’t disappoint but fair warning: If you’re going on the weekend, you can almost definitely expect a long wait especially if you want to sit on the patio (which we highly recommend)!

Saint Anejo

Saint Anejo is really popular (especially when the weather is nice) and it’s easy to understand why. Their authentic Mexican fare is unbelievable (can you say house-made guac?!) and the atmosphere couldn’t get cooler. One side of the restaurant is open air with a connecting bar and large patio. For food, they know how to put a creative spin on Mexican classics with dishes like Huevos Racheros (pictured above), Chorizo Scramble, Crispy Potato and Chile Mole Shrimp Tacos and more!

Nada

Nada may be Spanish for nothing but we think this place is everything! It’s one of the newer Mexican restaurants in Music City and already one of the most popular. First of all, the chips and salsa. Enough said. The tacos make a statement too with their unique styles like Fried Tofu and Roasted Wild Mushroom. And the sides.. try the Sweet-Chili Glazed Cracked Potatoes. Our waitress joked they’re like crack and we totally get it. Yum.

Taco Mamacita

Why eat a taco with one shell when you can have two? These hot chicken tacos with double-stacked blue corn and flour tortillas are so Nashville. Delicious, juicy, & the perfect amount of heat. They’ve got all kinds of mouth-watering taco creations on their menu and don’t forget a side of the ever popular Mexican Street Corn. We’re especially fond of Taco Mamacita’s patio.. all conveniently located by Music Row.

Rosepepper Cantina

Ah yes.. the restaurant known for its’ hilarious sign, creative margaritas and delicioso Mexican fusion fare. This East Nashville favorite is a staple and we agree.. tacos are way better than abs! As is everything else on their extensive menu. Their chips and queso are definitely incredible and it’s even more amazing with their unique puffy chips (order them)! We also just love the vibe here: Old Mexico meets East Nashville.

Taqueria del Sol

Taqueria del Sol, which means Taco Shop of the Sun, is a Nashville favorite. The original in 12 South was so popular, a second location on Charlotte Avenue opened almost a year ago. As the name implies, these restaurants are bright and cheery with a clean, white pallet. This place is fast casual but with top shelf menu items that are as creative as they are delicious. Our personal favorite? The Chicken Enchilada with Lemon Cream Sauce (pictured above) with Chips & Queso (duh).

Baja Burrito

We kindof don’t want to tell you guys about this place because it’s the best kept secret in Nashville.. but we also love y’all. So here you go: Baja Burrito. It’s a super casual hole in the wall with the arguably the best burritos in Nashville. The pineapple salsa is also pretty life-changing.

Mas Tacos Por Favor

This place will have ya saying, “Mas tacos por favor!” Do not be fooled by the small building. Mas Tacos is one of the biggest deals in town when it comes to Mexican. Expect a crowd and an amazing meal. We highly recommend the fish tacos and Mecivan corn. Mmm.

Mas Tacos Por Favor | 732 McFerrin Avenue | East Nashville

San Antonio Taco Company (aka Satco)

The best Tex-Mex in Nashville! If you like no-fuss tacos, Satco is your place. Plus, their homemade tortillas are hard to beat! One of the most popular items on their menu is their Chile Con Queso! It’s a must.

San Antonio Taco Company | 416 21st Avenue South | Nashville

Bakersfield Nashville

Let’s taco about the best Mexican food in downtown Nashville. Two words: Bakersfield Nashville. Tacos and tequila are their jams and they do it right. Fresh, simple, delicious. By the way, order the queso.
