Douglas Corner Cafe Closes After 33 Years

-

Douglas Corner Cafe, located at 2106 8th Avenue in Nashville, permanently closed on March 15, according to owner Mervin Louque.

Douglas Corner Cafe is known as a musical institution where new singers/songwriters would come to perform in the small venue. Its stage has seen performances from Alan Jackson, Trisha Yearwood, Billy Dean, Blake Shelton, and more.

In a video message, Louque thanked those who helped him get started, his business partners and his staff. Louque said he’s not leaving Nashville and will continue to work on another project but didn’t say what that might be at this time.
