Brandi Carlile receives nominations in several categories – Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Duo/Group of the Year.

Via Facebook, Carlile stated, “I’m so proud of this, friends. Deep appreciation to Americana Music Awards Association and all of the people involved for their thoughtfulness, respect, and inclusion. ”

Carlile went on to mention John Prine who died early this year due to COVID-19, “We’re all gonna miss John Prine more than words can express. But I believe he’d be proud of this year too.”

This year, the association decided to further highlight the wide breadth of exemplary talent in the Americana music community by expanding its award categories to include five nominations instead of four, with the exception of “Song of the Year” totaling six due to a nomination tie.

The winners of each category will be announced during the Americana Honors & Awards on Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2020, at the historic Ryman Auditorium. Ticketing information will be announced at a later.
