1) ITS FOUNDING FATHERS WERE THE ORIGINAL HIPSTERS
A decade and a half ago, four friends were living in East Nashville before high rise condos and trendy eateries put the area on the map. They deemed themselves the East Nashville Bachelors’ Association and were young and unencumbered enough to start the fourth of July festivities a little early…
Originally a front porch BYOB party with delivery pizza as the main fare, the Thirth has grown tremendously since its inaugural year. While the East Nashville Bachelors’ Association has disbanded due to three of its members surrendering their bachelor titles, the party has only grown stronger.
From a PA on the porch for friend-of-a-friend songwriters to a 20×20 stage (which featured The Mavericks last year), this party has history and character.

2) IT’S NOT JUST IN THE COMMUNITY, IT’S FOR THE COMMUNITY
If you want to feel good about enjoying some yummy food truck eats, Nashville’s own Yazoo brew and some incredible musical talent, the Thirth is for you. You can feel great about the fun knowing that a portion of your ticket is donated to a local charity.

3) IT’S KID (AND PET) FRIENDLY
This former East Nashville Bachelors’ Association party gets even more irresistible because they love kids and dogs — both are welcome at the event.
Charities, dogs and kids? We kind of wish those guys were still bachelors!

4) IT’S BIGGER, BUT IT HASN’T LOST ITS NEIGHBORHOOD CHARM
The first Thirth of July was four guys partying on their front porch. In recent years, the event has welcomed over a thousand partiers each year from all over the city. Event founder and organizer Chris Thompson says that while the neighborhood may have evolved, “the party has not gentrified.”
Friends old and new meet on the street for some unaffected fun, and it’s the perfect way to kickoff America’s big, loud birthday.
