You made it to the weekend, friend.
It’s no secret: Nashville can deliver some memorable, fun-filled weekends. It’s a time when tourists and locals alike hit the town and look for something fun to do, whether it’s grabbing a cold one and signing someone’s bachelorette party sash at Tootsie’s, bringing your sweet moves to a dance party in an abandoned warehouse in East Nashville, or grabbing a snow cone and enjoying an outdoor movie with your kids. It’s gonna be a blast, y’all, and we have some suggestions tailored for your personal interests (to browse on your own/experience the awesomeness in its entirety, download Wannado)! Here we go, Nashville…our top picks for this weekend in Music City:

A Bluegrass Party & A Patriotic Saturday At Sevier
Full Moon Pickin’ Party – A magical night under the stars (and obviously, the full moon) with Nashville’s best bluegrass pickers, and you’re even allowed to bring your own instrument and join in on the fun. If you weren’t blessed with the gift of banjo-playin’, bring your loved ones, listen to the sweet sounds of headliners The Farmer And Adele, Lillie Syracuse, and the Zach Kerber Band, and grab a brew. It’s going to be a Nashville night, and it all benefits Friends Of Warner Parks!
Red, White, & Brew Food trucks, wine, music, carnival games – it will all be happenin’ at your friendly 12 South neighborhood hangout, Sevier Park. Gather ’round the cornucopia of awesome Nashville street food (featuring ACME Feed & Seed Food Trailer, Chago’s Cantina, Crepe a Diem, Commerce Street Grill, The Loving Pie Company, Mafiaoza’s, Mere Bulles, Music City Pie Company, Nashville Sweets, Noelle, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Urban Grub, Wild Cow, and more – WHEW). It’s all for a good cause, benefiting The Tomorrow Fund!
If You’re Feelin’ Like Jammin’ Out:
Delightfully Rowdy Rock Show & A Band From Your Youth
Kansas Bible Company at The Basement – Described as a “12 man wrecking ball of sound”, Kansas Bible Company is the kind of surrealist band you have to see in person to believe. Their live shows are a Nashville favorite, and the one constant in the awesome rock chaos that occurs is the promise of a goooood time. And a killer horns section. And some dancing.
Fall Out Boy w/New Politics at Fontanel Mansion – Is this more than we bargained for? NOPE. It’s just right. If you grew up on Fall Out Boy, you’re going to want to hear the rockers live in a beautiful outdoor venue (rather than through the crappy car radio in the car you drove in high school). Do it, y’all! After all, their songs know what you did in the dark.
If You’re Feelin’ Active:
A Glow-In-The-Dark Run & A Moonlit Hike
The Glo Run – So we already mentioned this as something we’d like to see captured by the now world-famous Nashville drone, but let’s revisit it. Because it’s cool, and it’s happening tomorrow night at LP Field. Put on your neon best (so you can win the post-run costume contest), and come run a 5k that has the ultimate prize waiting at the finish line: a DJ dance party.
Full Moon Hike w/Team Green Adventure – It’s the brightest night sky of the month, and that means the paved paths in Edwin Warner Parks is bright enough for hikin’! Still, bring your flashlights, and get ready for a super fun group hike with the quality folks at Team Green Adventure. It’s a productive and fun way end your Saturday!
If You’re Feelin’ Some Quality Time:
America’s Favorite Pastime & A Julie Andrews Sing-A-Long
Nashville Sounds v. Round Rock – It’s another top notch summer night at Greer Stadium, featuring America’s favorite pastime (which is baseball, not Netflix, contrary to popular belief) and a spectacular little fireworks show following the game, brought to us by Nashville News 2. Grab a hot dog, some ice cream in a plastic mini baseball helmet, and live that American dream.
Mary Poppins Singalong at Franklin Theatre – It may feel wrong at first to include on the perfection that is the vocal stylings/onscreen chemistry of Dame Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke, but here it’s encouraged! Spend your Sunday afternoon with the fam singing along to “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” (and we’re insurmountably proud that we didn’t have to look up the spelling for that word) at Franklin’s most picturesque vintage theater. That and a spoonful of sugar will make the medicine go down (in the most delightful way).
If You’re Feelin’ Inspired:
A Body-Positive Fashion Show & The Inspiring World Of Roger Ebert
REVIVALIST Launch Party at Deavor – We’ve already said a lot about this one in yesterday’s interview with the fabulous ladies behind the brand, but consider this your friendly reminder that tonight is the launch party. Hosted in partnership with Cause A Scene Music at Deavor with free drinks and music from Aaron Krause, My Red & Blue, and PHIN, it’s going to be a blast. You’ll also be treated to a fashion show and the vision for a body-positive, confident take on the industry!
“Life Itself” at Belcourt – Lots of public figures have claimed the title “voice of a generation”, but Roger Ebert’s legacy lives up to the hype. “Life Itself” is a moving tribute to the late film critic, celebrating his accomplishments, his spirit, his love of humanity, and his honesty. Head to Belcourt to get seriously inspired!
