The Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department (WCPR) invites area seniors (55+) to participate in upcoming day trips to visit area attractions. All activities are open to the public.
Cheeks Bend Bluff Hiking Trip
Join us for a hike at Cheeks Bend Bluff on Wednesday, November 20. This trail is a two-mile trail that wanders along the bluff overlooking the Duck River. Participants must be able to walk independently on different types of terrain. Some places we go may have easy and more difficult trails for seniors to choose from or we will stay together as a group. This outing is weather dependent, and participants will be notified as early as possible if
weather related issues arise to cause cancellation. The cost of the outing is $3 for transportation. The group will depart the Williamson County Enrichment Center, 110 Everbright Ave., Franklin at 9:00 a.m. and return at 1:00 p.m. Register for activity #15253 at www.wcparksandrec.com.
Diskin Cidery
Autumn is almost over but there is still plenty of cider left to try. Join us on a tour of local brewery, Diskin Cider, on Thursday, November 21. What started off as a fresh crisp apple has been turned into a variety of brews and cocktails at this Nashville craft cidery. After the tour, the group will stop at Smokin’ Thighs. Dinner is Dutch treat.
Cost of the outing is $15. The group will depart the Williamson County Enrichment Center, 110 Everbright Ave., Franklin at 3:00 p.m. and return at 7:30 p.m. Register for activity #15459 at www.wcparksandrec.com.
